What is Canada Francophone Immigration Strategy?
Canada had met its goal of 4.4% of francophone immigration outside of Quebec in 2022. Today, it was announced by IRCC.
More than 16,300 new immigrants have landed in Canada’s Francophone minority communities in the last year. There were just over 2,800 admissions of French-speaking residents from outside Quebec during the first census year of 2006, between 2006 and 2022. This implies a considerable increase of 3.02% (from 1.38% to 4.4%).
Since records have been kept, this is the most non-Quebec French-speaking immigrants that Canada has accepted.
