VISITOR

Who are the Visitors?

Visitors are persons who are not Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada and are legally authorized to enter Canada to:

  • Visit Canada as a tourist on holiday (Vacation),
  • Visit family or friends,
  • Transit through Canada
  • Conduct business, etc.
  • Attend a meeting, conference, or trade show
  • Study or Work

Visitors are restricted in length of stay and subject to various conditions. Anyone who plans to visit Canada must apply from outside of Canada before they travel. Most people require a visa or an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to visit Canada – not both. A temporary resident visa (or Canada visitor visa) is an official document that IRCC sticks to in your passport. It proves that you meet the requirements required to enter Canada. Some people may only need their valid passports.

Most visitors can stay for up to 6 months in Canada unless, at the port of entry, the border services officer may gives you a visitor record or put the date in your passport that shows the date you need to leave.

What are the requirements for a Canada tourist visa?
  • Have a valid travel document, like a passport
  • Be in good health
  • Have no criminal or immigration-related convictions
  • satisfy an immigration officer that you have ties—such as a job, home, financial assets, or family—that will take you back to your home country
  • Convince an immigration officer that you will leave Canada at the end of your visit
  • Have sufficient money for your stay (The amount of money you will need depends on how long you will stay and if you will stay in a hotel or with friends or relatives)
  • You may also need a medical examination and a letter of invitation from a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada who lives in Canada

Many individuals do not comprehend the process, and there is a high refusal rate when they apply independently. It would be best if you extensively addressed all the previous refusal reasons to avoid the subsequent refusal.

Why Canada’s tourist visa is rejected?

There is one thing you should know there are many reasons for TRV refusal, depending on various cases, the type of visa you applied for, and the country of your citizenship. When examining the TRV applications, the IRCC visa officers’ immediate question is: “Will the applicants return to their home country after the duration of their intended trip to Canada?” So, if applicants fail to convince the IRCC officers that they will exit Canada at the end of their authorized stay or if they have grounds to believe that the applicants may overstay in Canada, then the TRV application will most likely get refused.  You have 7 Fantastic Options To Appeal the visa refusal if you believe the IRCC officer made a mistake on your application.

How can I avoid Canada Visa refusal?

The TRV application is one of the most complex applications to get approved. It requires detailed personal and family information and many documents to strengthen and support your application. The TRVs approval or refusal process doesn’t require you to an interview, as the IRCC’s screening process is conducted by document verification of your application. It is essential to prepare a solid application, as the immigration officers can decide based on the information provided.

In the past years, obtaining a Canadian study permit was more like a dream for many students. Although Canada has been a welcoming country for immigrants for many years due to its geographical conditions, area, and small population, the refusal rate of Canadian TRVs, including Visitors, Study, and Work visas, has increased in recent years due to the lack of applicant’s knowledge of Canadian immigration regulations. Within the last few years, the Canadian government has invested a lot in regulating immigration services. It finally created the CICC (The College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants), which licenses and regulates Canadian immigration and citizenship consultants in the public interest, whether they practice in Canada or abroad. This protects the public from any possible immigration fraud resulting from ghost consultants worldwide benefiting valuable immigrants who seek to increase their approval rate to get Canadian visas by using professional services.

Who is a Business Visa in Canada?

Canada is an impressive country with a professional, skilled workforce, excellent educational institutions, and quality healthcare. Therefore, many professionals from around the globe want to visit Canada. A business visitor travels to Canada to participate in international business activities without becoming a part of the Canadian labour market.

How long can you stay in Canada as a business visitor?

You may travel for business development, training, or investment purposes but will not need to stay in the country for six months. Visits can be as short as a few days. Examples of the type of work that qualify for a business visit include:

  • Attending trade shows, professional conferences, or meetings
  • Exploring supplementary business opportunities in Canada
  • Visiting Canada-based locations or offices
  • Purchasing or taking orders for goods or services for a foreign business
  • Attending or leading professional training by a Canadian branch of a foreign company you work for outside Canada.
Can business visitors apply for work permits in Canada?

Business Visitors do not need a Work Permit to enter Canada and must demonstrate that their principal source of income and business location is not in Canada. Under the IRCC’s regulations, business visitors and business people are different. Business people come to do work in Canada under a Free Trade Agreement.

Foreign nationals who want to enter Canada must complete the correct immigration paperwork. It can be unclear whether you are classified as a business visitor, a businessperson, or a business immigrant. An incorrect classification can cause you to be banned from entering Canada or cause high-priced delays.

Business visitors must apply for a business visitor visa unless they are from visa-exempt countries. In these cases, you may still need an electronic travel authorization (eTA) if arriving in Canada by air.

If your visit requires you to remain in Canada for more than six months, you may be considered a worker and must apply for a work permit.

Activities you may conduct as a business visitor.

Once approved as Business Visitor, the Applicant is allowed to travel across Canada. They can only do some business activities and qualify for a business visitor visa. Activities include entering Canada to buy or take orders for goods or services and attending meetings, conferences, conventions, or trade shows. Taking part in training or coaching, Intra-company training, installation activities, and providing aftersales service or general service as part of an agreement also qualifies.

Also, they can use the opportunity to not only meet prospective clients and take orders but also to search for more rewarding business prospects and explore schools and educational institutions to pursue further studies.

However, this visa does not allow applicants to find employment in Canada. A business Visitor visa is best suited for travellers intending to experience Canadian culture, tour sites, and experience recreational activities while exploring different business options.

What are the requirements for a business visitor visa?

To be granted admission to Canada as a business visitor, you must:

  1. Have valid travel documentation, such as a passport,
  2. Have sufficient funds to accommodate your stay in Canada and your return home.
  3. Have the intent to leave the country once you’ve concluded your business in Canada,
  4. Must provide documentation to prove their intended business activities in Canada.
  5. Have their business center and the source of income and profits gathered outside Canada.
  6. Have a letter of invitation, a letter of support from the business contacts you are visiting, and contact details for your Canadian host.
  7. Should obtain a Letter of Recognition from the Canada Border Services Agency if you intend to organize a significant event in Canada, such as a convention, exhibition, meeting, or scientific or exploratory expedition.
  8. Contracts, conference materials, or other documentation relating to your visit

The requirements for proving your eligibility will depend on your stay’s proposed length and purpose. The IRCC will evaluate your condition to ensure you have all the required documentation to facilitate your admission as a business visitor to Canada.
