Family Reunited After Visa Refusal — A Mother’s Journey to Canada

Case Study: Family Reunited After Visa Refusal — A Mother’s Journey to Canada

At Arnika Visa, we often meet clients who have faced disappointment and confusion after a Canada visa refusal. Each case tells a story of resilience, family bonds, and hope — and through careful legal strategy and expert representation, we help transform those stories into victories.

This is the story of Ms. Angelica, a devoted wife and mother from Mexico, who overcame her visitor visa refusal to finally receive her Canadian visa approval in May 2025.

Background of the Case

Born in Mexico City, Ms. Angelica grew up in Campeche, surrounded by hard-working parents and siblings who deeply valued family and education. A passionate primary school teacher, she dedicated nearly a decade (2010–2018) to shaping her students’ lives before joining her family’s thriving retail and wholesale business in Campeche.

In 2021, Angelica met Chris, a Canadian citizen, got married, and built a life together in Mexico. Their union brought two beautiful children, both Canadian citizens by descent.

While the young family lived in Mexico, they wanted their children to know and experience their Canadian roots. In 2023, they spent nearly six months in Canada, living with Chris’s mother in  Québec. It was during this time that Angelica developed a deep appreciation for Canadian culture and family life.

IRCC’s Refusal Letter : December 2024

On December 20, 2024, Angelica received devastating news: her visitor visa Refusal letter was issued by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and then found out how to check visa rejection reasons!.

The IRCC officer cited the following reasons under section 179(b) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR):

  • The purpose of her visit was not consistent with a temporary stay;
  • Her employment situation did not show sufficient financial establishment in Mexico.

Despite her genuine family ties and clear intentions, her application was dismissed — a common outcome for applicants visiting close family members in Canada.

Feeling disheartened but determined, Angelica reached out to our RCIC, Reza Eslami at Arnika Visa, for professional guidance.

Arnika Visa’s Approach: Building a Complete, Credible, and Compassionate Case

Upon reviewing the refusal, Reza Eslami quickly recognized that the original submission lacked a fully developed personal narrative and supporting context that would help IRCC understand her family circumstances and strong ties to Mexico.

He meticulously restructured the solid immigration application, preparing a comprehensive client information package that addressed every concern raised by the visa officer. This new submission included:

  • A detailed personal statement explaining her life in Mexico, her teaching career, and her family’s business.
  • Proof of strong family and financial ties to Mexico, including her parents’ businesses, property, and social ties;
  • A clear financial plan, provided jointly by her husband;
  • A personalized travel plan for a short 61-day visit (May–July, 2025), including accommodation, insurance, and return flight itineraries;
  • A formal invitation letter from her Canadian mother-in-law, who guaranteed accommodation, meals, and support during their stay.

Every document was carefully aligned with IRCC requirements, professionally formatted, and backed by legal representation through Arnika Visa.

The Submission: A Complete and Transparent Reapplication

On April 1, 2025, our RCIC, Reza Eslami (R710241), submitted Angelica’s new visitor visa application, along with a thorough submission letter, to IRCC.

In the letter, he clearly outlined:

  • The legitimate family purpose of the trip (a short summer family visit);
  • The applicant has deep family roots and property ties in Mexico.
  • Her travel history, including prior compliance with Canadian and European visas;
  • Her financial capacity and family support from Canada, and
  • A detailed affidavit of intent to return home after the visit.

Mr. Eslami also emphasized that Ms. Angelica was not applying to immigrate to Canada, but rather to visit her Canadian family members and return to Mexico to resume her life as a mother, teacher, and business contributor.

The Result: Visa Approval — May 29, 2025

Less than two months after the new submission, IRCC issued a Passport Request Letter on May 29, 2025, confirming that the decision had been approved.

After the heartbreak of a previous refusal, this moment was an overwhelming relief for Angelica and her family. She could finally travel with her husband and children to Canada, reunite with her mother-in-law, and enjoy a memorable summer together — exactly as planned.

Why This Case Matters

Angelica’s case exemplifies how a Canada visa refusal does not mean the end of the road. Many genuine applicants are denied due to incomplete documentation, insufficient narrative, or insufficient evidence of ties to their home country.

By working with an experienced Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC), Angelica transformed her refusal into a success story — one built on truth, documentation, and professional presentation.

Client Reflection

Upon receiving her approval, Angelica expressed heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Reza Eslami and the Arnika Visa team, saying their guidance had restored the hope she had lost after her refusal.

Her story stands as a powerful reminder that with the right help, even a difficult case can have a joyful ending.
